A comparison of planning, development, policy and urbanism

The Pearl District in Portland is held up as one shining example of how to plan and develop an urban neighborhood. Yet we have our own emerging urban neighborhood in Minneapolis, the North Loop. How was each neighborhood envisioned and how did each evolve?

There was a presentation and walking tour led by David Frank of Schafer Richardson. David compared and contrasted the planning, policy and financial decisions behind the development of the Pearl District and the North Loop.
